Natatandaan mo pa ba?

Fatal Posporos - Natatandaan mo pa ba...?
Annette, Donna, Kris, and Aia smokin' hot at the 2nd leg of ADMIT ONE's Second Anniversary Celebration (November 22, 2003) at Rock Radio Cafe in Alabang

It's been almost a year since I saw the Fatal ladies in action. Little did I know that the shot above was one of the last Fatal Posporos pics I would be taking...at least with the whole band intact, all four ferocious rocker chicks on one stage, spewing out one smashing song after another.

In February of this year, Fatal Posporos held their farewell gig, "Break-Break" at Millenia. Not long after, drummer Annette Ortiz bid farewell not only to the local music scene but to the entire country, as she made her way to the other side of the planet. This didn't stop her, nor the other Fatal ladies, from doing what she does best: making music! Annette would eventually join the Christian alterna-rock outfit called Airlia, led by fellow Pinay Angelica Lei Bautista (formerly of Prettier Than Pink). Kris Dancel and the rest of Cambio are currently enjoying the commercial success of their first full-length album, "Derby Light". Donna Macalino plays bass for Musings of a Cigarette Smoking Man. And Aia de Leon and the rest of Imago are busy preparing for the launch of their much-awaited sophomore effort, "Take Two", to be released under the indie label Guilty Pleasure Records.

And that's the way the story goes...or so everyone thought!

Tonight, 14 October 2004, FP fans are in for a great treat as 3/4 of this kick-ass girl band (excuse the term) will get together for a one-night-only reunion gig at the ADMIT ONE Fundraising Event (5-9 pm only!) at Conspiracy Bar along Visayas Avenue! And, yes, I will be there to catch that gig!!! Finally, I could have my Paper View album - which I obtained 5 years after it was released and 5 months after the breakup - signed, although Annette's scribbles won't be part of those autographs.

I will definitely be there, even if it kinda breaks my heart that I had to choose between this free-admission ADMIT ONE gig and an exclusive invites-only gig to be held the next day.

I will definitely be there, even if my parents would rather not allow me because they naturally fear for my safety if they know Andrew's not going with me (but of course I'm going tonight with their blessing).

And, of course, I will definitely take pictures, even if my camera is starting to conk out on me (huhuhu!!!). I just hope My Precious doesn't totally give up on me tonight. Masakit ata sa bulsa magpa-repair ng Canon digicam, right? :(

One thing though...it's that curfew word again. I do hope the 5-9pm thing is for real, because for sure FP will be the last to play, and I really oughta get my arse out of QC by 9ish. Iiyak talaga ako pag di ko sila naabutan...excited pa naman ako!

Abangan ang susunod na kabanata...

Postscript

Seeing that pic also reminds me how much I dearly miss Rock Radio Cafe, home to the rockers of the Southern Metro...

Word has it that the station has resumed/will soon resume broadcast. I'll never know for sure though, because RJ says it's "Hello Manila" this time, so for all those in the University Belt area, congrats on your darn luck! Rock Radio rules, man, and it will surely be missed by us Southern people.
